Twin County E-911 Regional Dispatch Center

The 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Carroll County, City of Galax, and Grayson County is co-located with Galax Police Department Communications in the Harold Snead Public Safety Building at 353 N Main St, Galax, VA  24333.  The Center is directed by a multi-jurisdictional Commission which exists for the purpose of developing, operating, maintaining and administering a regional emergency 911 system to the benefit of the citizens of these jurisdictions.  The Commission can be contacted through the 911 Coordinator. The Twin County 911 PSAP and Galax PD Communications operate 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a week by 4 shifts of 3 Communication Officers.   The 13 full-time Twin County and Galax PD Communication Officers have combined experience in excess of 125 years, with the average being 9 years.
